I said "AMEN", to those ideas to what my dear colleaques has commented. The truth is that we are the actors behind the scene, especially when our results has targeted the "eyebulls" for patient's better diagnosis and management.

There is an existing Association for Microbiologist but it's not exclusive for Med Tech only it is open for other science courses, actually I'm a member of Phil Society for Microbiologist, and one of the project is to have a Board exam for them to rule the whole Microbiology, that might cause us Med Tech's to be excluded in the Microbiology.... If that happens what would be the next step of our officers???????? and one more thing they also have advance molecular biology compared to us..

Regarding the microbiology group...PAMET directly opposed the legislation of the microbiology bill in the congress when a hearing was held some years back in case you do not knbow about this. The congress did not pass the said bill because the clinical microbiology is a function of medical technology practice according to existing law of R.A. 5527. The bill proposed by MIcrobiology group was advised to reconsider their action and needed the proposed bill some necessary revision. Just like other proposed bills, it was thrown in the trash can.

Our proposed bill for medical technology which incidentally included also the practice of molecular biology neede also some revisions. Since the legislators are busy with the forthcoming election, our proposed bill will be thrown to the trash can too. Let us wait for the new congress to open and file the bill. In case you do not know, the title of medical tehnology will be replaced by medical laboratory scientist to realign the prpfession with the existing practice of those in other countries.

Our members think that PAMET officers and board of directors are not aware of this and "nagtutulug tulugan". If only you knew how hard it is to convince the legislators and associate ourselves with other professionals in order to create a healthy environment among the health providers, our precisous time is not enough to do this even if our quality time with our family is at stake.

If you think you know better than us, please run in the next PAMET election and share your expertise to do this. Baka naman talaga mas marami kay9ong magagawa para sa association and the profession.

On the other hand, I think we really have to encourage the young generation to study further. Gone are the days na BS and board passer and the length of service enough na for promotion. Very diversed na role ng medical technologist and we have to specialize. We have to focus and specialize. If we will stay as generalist, the specialist will get into our world. Kelangan natin maging handa.

Yeah! the administrator was right there are lots of courses that are arising, with different associations/organizations, so as a RMT's we should also be ready, cause for me who's working in a gov't laboratory yet not in a hospital based lab, but rather in other laboratory field I can feel the competition between other courses....So all I can say is that we are counting on you, officers, don't let them be a head of us just keep the faith...Thank you for the info...
